The Automated Export System (AES) is an export information
gathering and processing system developed through cooperative efforts
between the U.S. Customs Service, the Bureau of the Census, other
Federal agencies, and the export community.
AES is the central point through which export shipment data
required by multiple agencies is filed electronically to Customs. AES
uses the efficiencies of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to
facilitate the movement of U.S. exports.
AES alleviates the hassles that can hinder quick and efficient
exporting. Inaccurate information, filling out paper forms, duplicate
reporting--the difficulties that impede the exporting business--are
eliminated by AES.
AES collects information electronically and accurately. Errors are
corrected up front. Paper copies of the Shippers Export Declaration (SED)
are no longer needed. Duplicate reporting to multiple agencies is
reduced.
The efficiencies generated by a consistent, single source of
uniform data translate into billions of dollars saved for businesses
and governments worldwide.
Whatever aspect of the export community you represent -- exporter,
carrier, freight forwarder, port authority, service center, non-vessel
operating common carrier, consolidator--AES has advantages for you.
